Overview
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a disorder that involves enlargement of heart muscle, resulting in disturbances in blood flow through the heart or electrical conduction of the heart. In males it is usually genetic, but in females it may respond to treatment with oral agents [Gaby2011, pg 335]
